Summer Camps

VBS 2017

Kids will take an awesome adventures alongside some of their favorite Bible heroes and discover the qualities that make us truly heroic in God. We will enjoy epic music, spectacular science, crafty crafts, heroic recreation, and fantastic Bible stories to help students discover their strength in God!

Adult & Youth volunteers wanted!

VBS is one of our biggest outreach events of the year and we need your help!  Childcare & mini-VBS available to pre-K and younger children of volunteers.  There will be a mandatory training meeting on June 4 at 12:15 pm in room 107.  Click here to register.

KUMC welcomes Engineering for Kids! who will host half and full day engineering, robotics, MineCraft, and game design camps on our campus.

June 12-16, 9 am—4 pm:  Jr. Robotics and Jr. Engineering (ages 4-7)

Morning Session
Jr Robotics: Adventure Stories: This camp is a perfect mixture of fun and learning, using LEGO® WeDo™ Robots. Using LEGO® bricks, campers build an airplane rescue, a giant escape, and a sailboat storm. They also learn how to program and operate their creations using a laptop computer.
Afternoon Session
Jr. Engineers: Under Construction – Put on your hard hats young engineers and join us for our Engineering of Cities! In this camp, students work hard to apply their knowledge of construction to save the beach from erosion and build their very own city from the ground up. From roads and tunnels to buildings and skyscrapers, students discover that no job’s too tough for an Engineering for Kids engineer!

July 17-21, 9 am—4 pm:  Engineering and Game Design (ages 8-14)

Morning Session
Survivor: Engineer’s Cove– Stranded on an abandoned island surrounded by darkness, cold temperatures, and wild animals. Campers will join tribes and compete in various engineering-related challenges against other tribes to survive and eventually engineer their way off the island. This camp features Aerospace Engineering and Electrical Engineering.
Afternoon Session
Video Game Design: Island Adventures-Campers will create their own unique island adventure themed Platform PC video game. Campers will design a hero stranded on a deserted island that will attempt to survive while battling against ferocious creatures. The special abilities of the heroes and creatures along with all other aspects of the game will be created in this exciting week to develop their very own video game that they can take home with them.

When:  June 26-30, 9 am – 1 pm daily

Cost:  $125 first child/$80 each additional
Ages:   3 months – rising 6th grade students.

We cook kid friendly recipes each day for breakfast, lunch, appetizers, dinner & dessert! Snack served; bring a lunch.

Cost:  $20 first child/$15 each additional

Performing Arts Camp is an exciting opportunity to put an awesome musical together in one week!  Kids will have the opportunity to act, sing, and create props and scenery.  Students should bring a packed lunch; a snack will be provided.

Ages:  3 months – rising 6th grade students.
